What was Jack saying in the clip - Is it bizarro or pizarro?

Remember Jack was saying "No, I've never actually met Pizarro, but I love his pies" in that new clip about AWE. He ment Francisco Pizarro who was actually a spanish conquistador. Find out more about him here.

Of course Jack never met Pizarro...he lived during the late 15th century into the early 16th.

I thought POTC took place during the early to mid 18th century.

so that begs the question, how has Jack sampled his pies?

"The great or classic era of piracy in the Caribbean extends from around 1560 up until the mid 1760s. The period during which pirates were most successful was from the 1640s until the 1680s."
Francisco Pizarro (c. 1475–June 26, 1541)

So I guess you're wright that Jack couldn't meet him, but I'm sure those ladies were too stupid to understand that, or producers and writers think that we are too stupid and don't know who's pizarro.
Well, I think that there was no need to meet pizarro to sample his pies :)

The ships rigging, guns and dress in the movie are in line with mid 18th century style/technology. Also Port Royal was used by the British as a Naval based only after rebuilding the city when it was lost in a major earthquake. That earthquake was in 1692.

This is one thing that I find confusing about the films: They want to be historically accuate on one hand, but on the other they don't give it much thought.

Who knows, maybe Pizarro was an early version of Sara Lee! Maybe he had a line of frozen pies that were popular in the 18th century.

PS - Wikipedia is a bad source for information.

wow, you're really good on history! Well, I'm not saying that it was not in 18th century. I think Jack means some kind of a pie with potatoes (cause the potato had gotten to Europe via Pizarro who brought them back to Europe from South America) all I'm saying is that Jack could taste those pies without meeting and conacting Pizarro.
And who's Sara Lee? :/

haha! Thanks. And as for Sara Lee - if you are in the USA look in the frozen food section of your grocery. It is a line of frozen desserts...

I guess I was the only one to laugh. Bizarro by Dan Piraro is a comic strip that features a signature pie character.
